November marks what we locals affectionately call the shoulder season.” The summer crowds have gone home, the fall leaf peepers” have taken their last scenic drives, and the town finally exhales. The pace slows, the streets quiet down, and we savor Holiday Shopping and Events

  • Annual "Bring A Friend" Event: Kick off your holiday shopping at Settlers Green Outlet Village in North Conway on Saturday, November 8, 2025. This event is bigger than Black Friday, with extended hours, a giveaway of 1,000 bags, and entertainment.
  • Hampton Inn Holiday Artisan Fair: Held on Friday, November 28, 2025, at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites North Conway, this two-day fair features local artisans and vendors, perfect for Christmas shopping.
  • Thanksgiving Feast Buffet: For a special holiday meal, the Omni Mount Washington Resort & Spa in Bretton Woods is hosting a Thanksgiving Feast Buffet on Thursday,November 27, 2025. Reservations are required for this elaborate dining experience.
  • Christmas at the Castle: On Saturday, November 29, 2025, Castle in the Clouds in Moultonborough holds a family-friendly holiday event. Enjoy tours of the historic mansion decorated for Christmas and browse an artisan fair.

Indoor Activities

  • Pope Memorial Library Events: The library in North Conway hosts several indoor activities throughout November, including a "Team Jigsaw Puzzle Fun" event on November 1 and a skiing-themed "Sip & Paint" on November 14.
  • Thanksgiving Soap-Making Workshop: Get creative at Sea Dog Brewing Company in North Conway on Thursday, November 20, 2025. This workshop, guided by HAND.THE.LIGHT by C.S.E,teaches you how to make goat's milk soaps with festive, natural ingredients.

Outdoor Activities and Weather

  • Hiking at Lower Elevations: Stick to lower-level trails in November due to cold temperatures, potential snow, and icy conditions at higher elevations.
    • Echo Lake Trail: A family-friendly, one-mile loop near North Conway offering scenic views of Echo Lake.
    • Diana's Baths: A series of cascades and pools in Bartlett, on West Side Road, offering an easy walk on a well-maintained trail.
  • Early Season Skiing: Some resorts may begin snowmaking and open limited terrain in late November if conditions allow. The average start of the ski season is late November to early December.
  • Dress in Layers: Be prepared for cold and variable weather, which can change rapidly. The Mount Washington Valley in November often features cold temperatures and the chance of snow.
